BIBLE VERSES

HEBREWS 9:27

"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"

In biblical symbolism, this verse describes an interior process, not a chronological event. It speaks of the soul’s transition from the lower personality into the higher Self, and the inevitable reckoning that follows whenever consciousness rises.

“It is appointed unto men once to die…”

“Men” symbolizes the lower personality, the composite of:
- desire‑nature
- lower carnal mind
- emotional reactions
- the karmic tendencies that bind the soul to form

To “die” is to undergo the death of the form, the dissolution of the lower state so that the higher may emerge.

This is the inner crucifixion is the extinguishing of the personality’s dominance.

It is “appointed” because every soul must pass through this transition. No one enters the higher planes without the death of the lower.

“…but after this the judgment.”

“Judgment” is not condemnation. It is discernment, the soul’s ability to clearly see itself in the light of the higher nature.

In mysticism, judgment is:
- the unveiling of the personal qualities
- the recognition of what belongs to the Spirit and what belongs to illusion
- the sorting of the real from the unreal
- the weighing of the soul’s substance in the presence of Truth

When the lower dies, the soul stands before its own higher Self, and everything false falls away.

The Inner Movement

This verse describes the twofold rhythm of regeneration:

1. Death of the lower — the personality’s structures collapse.
2. Judgment by the higher — the soul is measured, purified, and aligned.

This is not a single event but a repeated interior cycle as the soul ascends through plane after plane.

The Esoteric Message.....
The lower self must die so the higher may live; and whenever the soul rises, it must face the light of its own higher nature, where all illusions are judged and dissolved, and only the real remains.
