ROMANS 8:6

"For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."

Carnally minded
To be carnally minded is to have the consciousness centered in the personality or the lower mind of desires and attachment.

•     “Flesh” is the lower nature, the separated self, the life organized around form.
•     The carnal mind reads everything by the letter, clings to outer appearances, and defends its own center.
•     This produces death: not annihilation, but inner disconnection, stagnation, and disorder of the qualities.

The Carnal mind is the city built by death. It is the life trapped by form, cut off from the Higher current.

Spiritually minded
To be Spiritually minded is to have the consciousness centered in the Higher Self (Christ-mind), the inner Logos.

•     The mind turns upward and inward, reading by the Spirit, not the letter.
•     The qualities (tribes) begin to harmonize around a higher center instead of competing.
•     This produces life and peace:
•     Life is the inflow of divine life, REGENERATION beginning in the soul.
•     Peace is the ordered inner kingdom, the cessation of war between qualities.

The Spiritual mind is the Christ-mind governing life and peace, it is the soul aligned with the divine order, inwardly unified and alive.

The Esoteric Messsage....
Romans 8:6 states that when consciousness is ruled by the lower nature it falls into the death of separation, but when it is ruled by the Higher Self it enters the living harmony of divine life.
