BIBLE VERSES

ALPHA AND OMEGA

A symbol of the Higher Self as constituting the Soul-process in its entirety.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith the Lord God, which is and which was and which is to come, the Almighty." - REV. i. 8.

The manifesting Spirit from the Supreme, is the outgoing and the incoming of the Divine Life, the present, the past, and the future in the Eternal Now.

"Signifies, who is the self-subsisting and only subsisting from first principles to ultimates; from whom proceed all things." - SWEDENBORG, Apocalypse Revealed, n. 29.

"What is it that is the beginning and the end of existence? It is Christ. Christ is that in God which has produced man, and seeks full manifestation in man." - R. J. CAMPBELL, Serm., Apoc. Vision.

"To the author of Revelation it is not only God the Father, and not only our Lord Jesus Christ, but the eternal in man himself that says: 'I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.'" - R. J. CAMPBELL, Serm., The Eternal Self.

"The eternal relates to the past as much as to the future, and abolishes both. In the eternal, past and future are one. If your eternity lies in the future, it lies also in the past; you belong to the one as much as to the other. From the standpoint of eternity there is no question of 'I shall be' or 'I have been,' but 'I am.'" - R. J. CAMPBELL, Serm., Reaping for Eternal Life.
