ANOINTING WITH OILA symbol of the endowment of the soul with Divine Love, arousing sympathy with all beings. 'Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over." - Ps. xxiii. 5. The Self hath prepared for the ego the "fruits of the Spirit" on the higher planes, to be the food of the soul; and the desires (enemies) have been transmuted to this end. The Divine love has been bestowed upon the aspiring mind, and Wisdom has filled the understanding. |
