AVENGING THE DIVINE SACRIFICESymbolical the of vindicating Divine intentions by producing the result intended, namely perfection. "Horus now gathered his followers around him, and prepared himself to avenge his father's death (that of Osiris)." -PLUTARCH, Isis and Osiris, § 19. So soon as the Christ (Horus) had evolved above in the soul, he proceeded to choose those qualities (disciples) wherewith he should accomplish his work upon the lower planes; and so he prepared himself to establish the kingdom of His Father in the souls of humanity, even as it exists above in the Heavens (buddhic plane). "I (Ra) have come to avenge myself the blood of my members which have risen up against me, and I will bring to destruction that which hath been made for it. I will make perfect."-BUDGE, Egypt. Heaven and Hell, Vol. I. p. 19. The Self within is ready to vindicate the Divine life (blood) which flows in the desires which act in opposition to the higher motives, and will bring to dissolution the lower nature which has been the means of its evolution. The indwelling Self will make perfect the soul. “Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance belongeth unto me; I will recompense, saith the Lord."-ROM. xii. 19. Vindicate not yourselves in anger and passion, but in love make explanation. For the Divine Life of the soul will establish truth and righteousness, and bring all to perfection. |
