DISEASE, OR SICKNESSSymbolic of a malady of the soul in which disability is caused by a one-sided development of the lower nature, with failure of the mind to control the deformity. The result is that an affection of the lower nature ties the soul down and prevents the increase of spiritual faculty. The malady can only be healed when the qualities concerned become discontented with their condition, and then aspire towards the ideal. |
