DIVORCEA symbol of an apparent or delusive separation of Love from Wisdom, Emotion from Reason, Goodness from Truth; for these pairs are indissolubly united by Divine law. “Have ye not read that he which made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the twain shall become one flesh? What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." - MATTHEW xix. 4-6. Christ here points out that ideally reason and emotion are not at variance they are not separate but a duality. For this reason the mind shall quit sense and desire,—the outer parents,— and go in search of the Ideal,-the higher emotions, for they are one, when the intellect and the buddhic emotions are in harmony together. This ideal duality no lower attraction can avail to separate. |
