PROPHET

A symbol of a dawning of higher consciousness, and a recognition of reality. An intuition within the mind which foresees coming out-pourings of spiritual faculty and increased perception of truth.

"And they glorified God, saying, a great prophet is arisen among us and God hath visited his people." - LUKE vii. 16.

This refers to the perfecting of the qualities and their recognition of the higher state of consciousness which Christ brings to the soul.

"By a prophet is understood truth of doctrine. By prophet is meant doctrine of the church derived from the Word." - SWEDENBORG, Apocalypse Revealed, n. 3, 7.
