SEX PRINCIPLE IN DIVINE MANIFESTATIONWhen the Divine Monad or World-egg divides into two essences the sex principle is shown in the one essence being dynamic replete and fecundating and the other being static receptive and reproductive. This primal duality is known Spirit and Matter. Spirit first impregnates Matter with all formatives and qualities in the process of Involution then subsequently Matter reproduces forms qualities and Spirit in the process of Evolution. Spirit is therefore called male and Matter female or the first God and the second Goddess. "Self-consciousness cannot be expressed in terms of material things. The inner world of Spirit and the outer world of Matter are to our experience two not one and nothing can make them one. Fundamentally no doubt they are from the same source but in their manifestation they are an irresolvable duality. What is matter It is a means to the expression of spirit. And what is spirit It is the eternal substance that which is. Spirit is ever in a state of becoming ever uttering itself and yet through all eternity can never exhaust its Own limitless potentialities for these Matter and time imply each other but spirit transcends time. All the Goddesses are on the Matter Wisdom Space Emotion and Sensation sides of the same. |
