"Yet the Lord will command his loving-kindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, even a prayer unto the God of my life." - Ps. xlii. 8. Through suffering and trouble, the ego will be given opportunities of development at the period of incarnation (daytime), and in the discarnate interval (night) there will be harmony of the qualities through aspiration towards the Divine love and truth within. "The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation." - Ps. cxviii. 14. The Self is the power within the soul to raise and harmonise the qualities on the path of love and duty which leads to perfection. |
