JOHN 16:7
"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is
expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the
Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him
unto you."
In biblical symbolism this verse describes one of the most important
inner transitions in the entire spiritual anatomy.
“It is expedient for you that I go away”
The Higher (Christ‑consciousness) must withdraw from the outer level
of the soul so that the soul stops depending on external forms of
guidance.
This is the moment when:
• the outer Teacher disappears
• the inner Teacher is about to awaken
• the soul is forced to turn inward
• the Personality can no longer cling to the visible form of the
Higher
In mysticism terms:
The Higher withdraws from the outer court so the soul will follow it
into the inner sanctuary.
“If I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you”
The Comforter is the Holy Ghost, the inflowing divine life.
This cannot rise while the soul is still attached to:
• outer authority
• outer forms
• outer dependence
• the visible presence of the Higher
The withdrawal of the outer Christ is what creates the inner space
for the divine life to ignite.
This is the same pattern as:
- Elijah ascending so Elisha can receive the double portion
- Moses disappearing so Joshua can lead
- The Ark moving behind the veil
The outer must recede for the inner to awaken.
“If I depart, I will send him unto you”
The “sending” is not spatial.
It is the Higher releasing its life into the soul.
When the Higher withdraws from the outer level, it reappears as
inner Fire.
In mysticism terms:
Christ ascends in form so He may descend as life.
The Esoteric Message.....
John 16:7 shows that the Higher must withdraw from the outer level
of the soul so the Divine Life can rise within, transforming the
soul from dependence on external guidance to the inward rule of the
Spirit.
