JOHN 8:58
"Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto
you, Before Abraham was, I am."
In biblical symbolism, this statement is not a historical claim but
a revelation of the soul’s deepest center, the Monad, is speaking
through the awakened consciousness.
“Before Abraham was”
Abraham represents the historical self, the lineage of the
personality, the entire chain of inherited tendencies, memories, and
karmic formations that make up the lower nature.
To say “before Abraham” is to point to a level of being prior to the
personal story, prior to the ego’s formation, prior to the temporal
self.
“I am”
This is the voice of the eternal center, the uncreated point within
the soul that does not come into being but simply is.
It is the Monad speaking, the inner Christ‑principle, the divine
identity that precedes all forms of the self.
In mysticism, this verse reveals:
• the timeless layer of consciousness within the human being
• the unoriginated center that exists before the mind, emotions, and
personality
• the divine identity that is not born and does not die
• the inner Christ as the soul’s eternal ground
The contrast is deliberate:
• “Abraham” = the temporal self, the historical unfolding of the
lower nature
• “I am” = the eternal Self, the Monad, the divine center within
Thus the verse expresses the moment when the inner Christ‑center
speaks through the human form, revealing the soul’s true origin
beyond time, ancestry, and personality.
It is the declaration of the eternal within the temporal, the
uncreated within the created, the center that precedes all becoming.
The Esoteric Message.....
The inner Christ speaks from the soul’s eternal center, revealing a
self that existed before the personality and remains beyond time.
