BIBLE VERSES

GENESIS 1:22

"And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth."

Inner Meaning

In DOASAM symbolism, Genesis 1:22 marks the first blessing pronounced upon the emerging forces of the astral and mental planes.

Where verses 20–21 describe the generation and organization of astral and mental life, verse 22 introduces a new dynamic:

the Divine impulse toward expansion, increase, and evolution.

“Be fruitful and multiply” is not a biological command. It is the law of unfoldment operating within the soul.

 - The waters (astral plane) are to be filled with increasingly refined emotional and psychic energies.

 - The fowl (thought‑forms) are to multiply within the mental plane, rising toward clarity and illumination.

This blessing is the activation of evolutionary momentum within the inner constitution.

Symbolic Breakdown

 God Blessed Them
A symbol of the down‑flow of spiritual force into the lower planes.

Blessing = empowerment, vivification, the infusion of higher energy into evolving forms.

Be Fruitful and Multiply
Represents the self‑propagating nature of consciousness:
 - emotions generate further emotions
 - thoughts generate further thoughts
 - aspirations generate further aspirations

This is the law of inner reproduction: every state of consciousness tends to create more of its own kind.

Fill the Waters in the Seas
The astral plane becomes increasingly populated with:
 - desires
 - images
 - emotional patterns
 - psychic tendencies

These form the raw material from which the Soul eventually learns mastery.

Let Fowl Multiply in the Earth
The mental plane becomes increasingly active:
 - thought‑forms proliferate
 - ideas take shape
 - the capacity for reflection grows
 - the mind begins to rise above instinct

This is the awakening of the intellectual and aspirational nature.

Esoteric Interpretation

Genesis 1:22 describes the energizing of the soul’s evolutionary machinery.
 - The astral nature becomes rich, complex, and dynamic.
 - The mental nature becomes fertile, creative, and expansive.
 - The blessing ensures that consciousness will not remain static but will unfold, differentiate, and ascend.

This is the moment when the inner life becomes self‑developing.

The blessing is the law of growth embedded within the human constitution.

Comparative Symbolism

 Jungian Psychology
“Fruitfulness” corresponds to the proliferation of psychic contents—dreams, symbols, impulses—through which the unconscious pushes toward individuation.

Judaism
Blessing signifies divine empowerment, the infusion of life‑force that enables creation to fulfill its purpose.

Christianity
The verse prefigures the spiritual principle that grace empowers growth, both moral and spiritual.

Hinduism
The multiplication of forms mirrors the activity of prakriti, which continually produces new vrittis (thought‑waves) until the soul learns to master them.
